7 Questions with Christopher Nyerges

.

1. What have you found most challenging as a Christian school leader?

To clarify, I am not a "Christian School leader." We teach all ages, all denominations. We do not promote a political or religious point of view. All are welcome. See my website at www.School Self-Reliance.com. So, my greatest challenge as a school leader is to always match the curriculum to the diverse students.

2. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

This really varies from day to day....

3. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?

No one cares how much you know, or what experience you've had. EVeryone basically only cares about themselves, and how the classes, school, will benefit them. I know that sounds cynical, but it's just realistic.

4. What's one book apart from the Bible that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

Profound impact on my leadership? There are several, Language in Thought and Action by Hayakawa is a "must read," because we cannot teach if we cannot communicate. And then True Believer by Hoffer is essential too, because it describes the human condition and our tendency to be "sheep."

5. How do you find and keep great Christian teachers?

n.a

6. What's most important as a Christian school leader for developing a culture of wellbeing in your staff and students?

Be in the moment, be responsive to everyone's needs

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a Christian school leader so far?

folks, I have written whole books on this. We've had a few near death experiences, and one death which was a massive learning experience for everyone
