7 Questions with Shikha Sharma

Name: Shikha Sharma

Current title: Founder

Current organization: Toytoys toy library

I am Shikha Sharma, an MBA in marketing and a Delhi University graduate. I am a founder of an online toy library Toytoys. I am also the National vice president of WICCI ecommerce council.

I have experience of working with advertising agencies in client servicing and in corporates in marketing. As a mother of two kids I always struggled to keep them engaged with positive play . If i would buy a toy for my kid they would play for some days and get back to screen. Any new toy would not keep them engaged for a long time. Buying new toys and managing those toys was a problem for me. It also consumed lots of space and would add clutter in the house. I found similar problems with other parents. They lacked time, money or space and even after managing these found it difficult to keep their kids away from screen.

In order to cater all of these problems I started an online venture www.toytoys.in. A toy library where a parent can order all categories of toys, books and puzzles from the comfort of their home and thus save time, money ,space and most importantly engage their kid positively with different categories of toys.

I started my venture in 2017 with an aim to provide affordable access to a range of toys for families with children, provide access to toys and games in order to assist the children in developing skills, awareness and ensure children have the opportunity to play with age appropriate toys in order to meet their developmental milestones.

I have run my venture in Mumbai , Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. I feel happy when I see a smile on parents ‘ faces when they receive a new toy for their kid.

I have ventured into the B2B model where I have served playschools . Playschools also need toys on a regular basis.

Currently the toy library is based in Ahmedabad. We believe that children learn through play. We are a brilliant resource with hundreds of toys which can be hired by any family member. This enables access to a huge variety of toys at a lower cost.

My vision is to become a leader among the toy libraries . I want to give kids access to toys and games in order to assist them in developing skills, awareness and positive play experiences.
