7 Questions with Michael Awosiyan

.

1. What have you found most challenging as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise?

Ability to make other co-workers see what you are seeing to enable us to succeed in a given project or idea.

2. How did you become a CEO or executive of a large enterprise? Can you please briefly tell the story?

Well I grow up from a poor family which I keep hearing my friends parents died and some fall sick of different diseases. Then I saw the way my parents work so hard to put food on our table even as a government worker. So since then I have decided I'll never work for anyone but for myself and create solutions to the problem of my country and Africa at large. Though we are not at our destination yet but in a matter of 10 years from now which became our long term vision. So I decided to look into the cause of what happened to my friends' parents and mine. Then I realized that they lack rest which should enable them go for a short vacation and make them know their health status and keep themselves healthy. You can so I decided to make a chase on it. I went to study from different countries within Africa and the UK just to achieve this dream. This is what brought me to where I'm today and where I'll be tomorrow.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

I make sure my sleeping time is not invaded by anything even though I don't really sleep early in the night I sleep from 4am till 7:30 or 8 sometimes but I always make my night time productive.

I also give myself fun movies with my family and also give time for my children. But when it's time for work I'm always focused on the main objective.

4. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?

Believing in your dreams even when others say it's impossible. Only you can see what you see so don't get discouraged by whatever another person says.

2 thing is you must be sure that whatever you do love is the foundation. It will always keep you on top

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

My Bible. Everything I'm doing today comes from there.

6. How do you build leadership capacity in a large enterprise?

Patience and love

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise so far?

The story of when I had a lot to do but couldn't have a dime to drive this project.
