1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers, and other stakeholders?
Trust is the key; it is the most important attribute in the work field other than kindness, in my opinion. When I first meet a person, I never ask them for their position or their job description, so I never know what they do career-wise! Meeting someone, whether they are a stakeholder, a homemaker, or an entrepreneur etc. I treat everyone equally. I treat them respectfully, and I don’t judge them or look at them as if I am above them.
All people are equal, and people which including me, don’t see race, color, creed, gender, or any other way to be. I simply see a person who, in return, sees me! Treat others as you would be treated! Honesty will always be a priority, and you will build a reputation and get more people on your side to support you and speak highly of you in multiple circles, and you will be able to network and make new connections and achieve the ultimate goal in life, and this is the ability to grow!!
2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it look like to use them in real-world business?
Vision- my definition of vision is the ability to dream, use the imagination that you have been blessed with, and create the image that you have dreamed about. The gift of sight of your goals being reached and realistic, and to speak about the things you want to achieve and accomplish in your life/my life!
Vision- Everything that I have dreamed of doing in my life has become reality and that will never end, I set my eyes on what most people would think is unachievable an give up never to attempt to take a chance, instead be positive pursue the challenge take the chance believe in myself and my ability to make the dream come to life with confidence and persistence!
Mission-Purpose, statement, and ultimate success in your life achievement. Mission- I have a mission to be whatever God wills me to be. The goal of this mission is to be a multiple of missionary things: A leader, An example that others may look, and mimic, A guide that can be of service and guidance,A voice that people can hear and understand, relate, and learn from,A message that can help others be more confident, motivated and positive, A Brand that will inspire others to be inspired then they can in return inspire others and so on and so forth! My mission of kindness is always the focus inside all of the multi-missions that I am working to accomplish, and I believe in myself and trust in God that my mission is not a dream but a/my reality !
3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?
Integrity, Confidence, Courage, Strength, Motivation, Honesty, and Determination are the most successful combination of a powerful recipe that I always put into play, and it has been proven that it works!
4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?
I come from a long line of leaders in my family who have been the most influential people in my life. I am very grateful for them all, and I am proud to say that they are my relatives! My main influences are as follows:
1.) My grandmother Victoria Preston, with whom I would not have the relationship with God that I have now her which is the most important thing to me.
2.) My pawpaw, Capt. Bill Wesley P Bennett Sr., I was his favorite, and he said that I was his star; without him, I wouldn’t have the confidence I do.
3.) my stepdad/dad Edward Haire strongest man I’ve ever known worked all his life and was always the most generous person ever he took care of his family and his wife’s family as well as several other people who were his friends that he had, he taught me the importance of being a hard worker and a strong person who always provided and this is not just financially but provided knowledge, wisdom and encouragement,
4.)My aunt Lilly and Uncle James Seguin taught me that knowledge and wisdom are two of the most valuable things that you can both learn and teach from, and limits are only limits when you have limited and made limitations in your life, so I don’t limit myself! My main influence is God/Jesus Christ, he has taught me the most important things in my life, and that’s the ability to love!!!
5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?
I’m human and I don’t have time to sit and ponder on the oh I wish I could have, would have, should have’s. Instead, I have to realize that I’m human and life happens in the most convenient place, way, time, and every other way possible life happens! I don’t focus on my trials and tribulations or my mistakes that I have made and am going to make along the path to my success because they don’t define me as a person nor as a leader, they are simply mistakes, they are not who I am! So when I mess up, my focus is to try again.
6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?
Planning is a process and not just a process of making sure that the project is completed but also a process of getting the right information, people, places and materials to make sure the project has the best chance of success realistic goals for the project to achieve without having a overwhelming amount of anxiety and the right drive to make desired outcomes! Not to mention that calendar scheduling in a planner
7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?
Remember that you are not a robot but human too, Be kind and be stern, don’t be judgmental and don’t insult, be fair and equal, be polite and respectful, honest and humble with constructive criticism and praise vs. opinionated and arrogant positivity and motivation uplift the people in return they will uplift you.
The world needs a voice to lead, not a dictator who screams! Win the beehive and all that is in it with honey or get stung by the entire nest of bees with vinegar! Breathe and be yourself, be human instead of being an upright self-righteous fool who will be the most hated one in the office! You are the future, and the future is bright in the eyes of the leaders, so be the best of you, living your best life with your head high!
