1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers and other stakeholders?

Effective communication is the linchpin of managing relationships. Clear, transparent, and empathetic communication lays the groundwork for building trust and understanding.

2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it actually look like to use them in real-world business?

VISION is the aspirational destination that guides my business's future. MISSION is the path I take to reach it. In the real world, I share these with clients to align goals, inspire action, and build a cohesive strategy. They provide a compass for decision-making, fostering a shared purpose and driving success.

3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?

I empower my teams by fostering a culture of trust, encouraging autonomy, providing growth opportunities, and recognizing and celebrating their achievements.

4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?

A mentor in my life from over 25 years ago has recently returned to my life in the last year. He empowered me early in my career as a young female professional coming up in the tech world. He believed in my abilities and enabled me to make decisions and grow as a leader. He taught me my no-nonsense style of leadership, and even today, he helps me think and present at an executive level, instead of being too detailed in the weeds.

5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?

I find myself saying NO more often. My time is precious and I need to avoid distractions while enabling strategic prioritization. I have to ensure my time and energy is directed toward high-impact tasks critical for success.

6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?

Scheduling time on my calendar prioritizes tasks, ensures balance between my professional and personal life, minimizes procrastination, and optimizes productivity. I've established a structured routine that fosters efficiency and enhances overall well-being, contributing to my long-term success.

7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?

Asking for help cultivates a supportive environment, and aids a young leader in overcoming challenges associated with delegation. It fosters collaboration, builds a stronger team, and provides valuable insights, contributing to personal growth and the development of effective leadership skills.
