1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers and other stakeholders?

Ongoing daily

2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it actually look like to use them in real-world business?

Vision and Mission are the why and what of your organization's purpose. What it looks like is simple - leaders walk the talk.

3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?

Lead by example through the values and principles you expect

4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?

I've admired a few people like Jack Welch (GE) and Lou Gerstner (IBM) and have read their books. Their influence was powerful for me and helped me understand what leaders do to inspire enterprise-wide change. My mentor taught me to write things down and make sure I can get from point A to point B in a timely manner. It was all about executing strategy.

5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?

I eliminate distractions

6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?

Write down schedules and what needs to be accomplished.

7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?

Start with some of the things you know are simple that you prefer not to do because of time constraints. This will give you a comfort level initially to delegate. This depends on hiring smart people who are action-oriented.
