7 Questions with Dorin Ioanas

.

1. What have you found most challenging as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise?

Crafting company's strategy and designing a future proof operating model in a very volatile business environment.

2. How did you become a CEO or executive of a large enterprise? Can you please briefly tell the story?

I am not a CEO but I hold a leadership position in my company. For me it was all about consistently delivering good results, being an inspirational leader and continuously learning and improving.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

I typically start by reviewing the agenda for the day and establishing the priorities. Then I do the easy things first so I put some things aside and build the momentum so then I can focus on the tasks which require more time. I always keep some time there for the unknown, urgent requests which require attention, unexpected meetings, etc. I finish my day by reviewing what I have managed to complete and what I carry forward for the next day along with the agenda of the following day. After work I spend time with my family and from time to time play tennis.

4. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?

Listen to what people have to say.

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

It was a biography of Gen. George Patton. What impressed me was his ability to communicate with his men and motivate them to stretch beyond their limits in extremely difficult situations in order to achieve their objectives.

6. How do you build leadership capacity in a large enterprise?

By continuously identifying and grooming the people with potential.
