1. What have you found most challenging as a leader of a small or medium enterprise?

Finding managers who share the passion for success and have the experience and flexibility to function effectively in a growing organization .

2. How did you become a leader of an SME? Can you please briefly tell the story?

By achieving managerial success in several Fortune 100 firms and taking that experience and applying it as the CEO to the entrepreneurial nature of an SME.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

By developing a strategic plan and implementing it on a daily basis to achieve the milestones in the plan.

4. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?

That successful leadership requires empathy and the ability to motivate your team to achieve success because they want to, not because they are told to.

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

How the Mighty Fall by Jim Collins. This excellent tome highlights all of the pitfalls of poor leadership and how to avoid them. It is required reading for any CEO that wants to be a successful leader.

6. How do you build leadership capacity in an SME?

By hiring and mentoring managers who want to be successful and are willing to pay the price to achieve that goal.

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader of an SME so far?

I took an unknown foreign brand and built it into the market leader and positioned the company for sale to a Fortune 100 Corporation.
