In her studies for Engineering Management, Kiara has found a further need to help with the advancement of Automotive Technologies & Manufacturing Processes, while keeping her focus on her family and her community. She has been working for the top OEM Manufacturers and Tier-One Supplier companies for almost a decade.
1. What have you found most challenging as a leader of a small or medium enterprise?
All the titles you hold while juggling everything else in life. All the while still trying to gain ROI for your business while maintaining your lifestyle.
2. How did you become a leader of an SME? Can you please briefly tell the story?
When I realized the change agent I am would never come to be under the limitation & insecurities of others, I had no choice but to build my own in order to fulfill my divine purpose.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
I start my day off with self care and gratitude. I have general tasks to complete based on the day, but I ask for decisive direction & prioritization during my morning meditation.
4. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?
Boundaries are health and necessary, but limitations, in general, only exist if I create them.
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill-- this book is a great personal growth book, but there is a direct connection between personal & professional growth in my opinion. This just gives a great visual to where we stand and what obstacles stand in front of us, and how to handling this maturely.
6. How do you build leadership capacity in an SME?
Me personally? Leadership means something different for everyone, but understanding the individuality of my co-workers and using our commonalities as a foundational connection helps to build cohesiveness and growth.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader of an SME so far?
I would say all the mountains & valleys in my journey as a leader for a SME is creating a very colorful story.
