1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers and other stakeholders?

As an SEO professional, I build trust with clients through transparency, delivering data-driven results, and clear communication. Regular reporting on KPIs, setting realistic goals, and offering tailored strategies help establish credibility. I also educate clients on SEO practices and adjust campaigns based on their feedback to foster long-term partnerships.

2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it actually look like to use them in real-world business?

To me, "Vision" represents a company's long-term aspiration, defining its purpose and future direction. "Mission" outlines the actionable steps and values that guide daily operations to achieve that vision. In real-world business, vision inspires innovation and strategic growth, while mission drives team alignment, decision-making, and customer interactions. Together, they shape culture, goals, and measurable outcomes, ensuring the company stays focused and purpose-driven amidst challenges and opportunities.

3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?

A leader empowers others by fostering trust, offering clear communication, and providing opportunities for growth. Encouraging autonomy and decision-making builds confidence, while offering guidance and support nurtures development. Recognizing achievements, listening to feedback, and creating an inclusive environment ensure individuals feel valued. Ultimately, empowerment comes from inspiring others to take ownership of their roles and contributions.

4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?

Some of the coaches who’ve influenced my leadership include my high school teacher, Ms. Fernando, who instilled resilience in me, and my first manager, Mr. Manaloto. One memorable story is when Mr Manaloto encouraged me to lead a project I felt unprepared for. His trust and guidance helped me overcome self-doubt, and I succeeded, realizing that stepping outside my comfort zone was key to personal and professional growth.

5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?

Maintaining focus as a leader involves prioritizing key goals and avoiding distractions. I practice active listening to understand team needs and delegate tasks effectively, empowering others to take ownership. Regularly reassessing priorities helps avoid unnecessary tasks and redirects efforts to what truly matters. By setting clear boundaries and practicing mindful decision-making, I ensure my actions align with strategic objectives, keeping the team focused and productive.

6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?

I plan by setting clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. Each week, I prioritize tasks and review progress. Monthly, I adjust strategies based on outcomes and emerging needs. For long-term planning, I establish major objectives and track milestones. Regularly reviewing and updating plans ensures alignment with overall goals, adapting to changes, and maintaining focus on key priorities.

7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?

To a young leader struggling with delegation, I’d advise starting small by assigning manageable tasks and gradually increasing responsibility. Clearly communicate expectations and provide the necessary resources and support. Trust your team and avoid micromanaging—give them room to take ownership and learn. Regular feedback and open communication help build confidence and improve skills over time. Remember, effective delegation empowers your team and enhances overall productivity.
