1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?
As a leader at TaxpediaOnline, the most challenging aspect has been striking the balance between our mission of providing affordable education and the financial sustainability of our initiatives. It's vital to ensure that our social welfare goals align with the organization's financial viability to continue making a positive impact.
2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?
My journey into leadership was sparked by a desire to make education accessible to all. It began when I observed the barriers that limited individuals from pursuing careers in US Taxation. With this vision in mind, I founded TaxpediaOnline, combining my passion for education and my drive to lead a team dedicated to this social welfare mission.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
My day starts early with meditation to focus my mind. I then dedicate my morning to strategic planning and addressing high-priority issues. Afternoons are reserved for team collaboration and reviewing projects. The evening is dedicated to family, helping me maintain a work-life balance crucial for effective leadership.
4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?
I've been reminded that leadership is not about doing everything yourself but empowering your team. Delegating and trusting the expertise of others is a crucial lesson. It's about fostering a collaborative environment where each team member feels valued and contributes their best.
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
One book that has profoundly influenced my leadership is the "Bhagavad Gita." This ancient Indian scripture isn't just a religious text but a profound source of wisdom on leadership and life.
The Bhagavad Gita taught me the essence of selfless leadership. Arjuna's inner conflict and Lord Krishna's guidance exemplify the dilemmas leaders face. It emphasized the significance of duty, commitment, and moral values in leadership. The Gita's teaching to focus on the task at hand, rather than the results, has been a guiding principle in my leadership journey. It reminds me that, as a leader, I must be dedicated to my responsibilities and not be overly attached to the outcomes. This detachment from results and focus on the process has made me a more resilient and effective leader.
In essence, the Bhagavad Gita's timeless teachings have instilled in me a deeper understanding of purpose-driven leadership, the importance of ethics, and the need for a holistic approach to success. It's a book that has not only impacted my leadership but also my approach to life as a whole.
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?
I would advise young leaders to stay true to their values and purpose. In the journey of leadership, challenges will arise, but a strong sense of purpose and unwavering commitment to it will guide you through tough times and inspire your team.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?
One of the most meaningful experiences was witnessing a student from a modest background graduate through TaxpediaOnline's program, secure a job, and lift their family out of financial hardship. This success story reaffirmed that our work goes beyond education; it transforms lives and strengthens the social fabric. It's a testament to the impact we can make through dedicated leadership with a social welfare focus
